Chairman of the Association of Water Well Drilling and Rig Owners, Practitioners (AWDROP) in  Oyo State, Engineer Kolawole Olayinka has petitioned the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Abiodun Odude over an attack on him by suspected ritualists .

Engineer Olayinka who is also the Chairman of Ifelodun Landlords Association in Agofieti area of Apata, Ibadan in  the petition dated ,  February 10, 2018, copies of which were made available to journalists in Ibadan on Saturday, Olayinka urged the Oyo state Police  Commissioner  to use his good office to request that the “ritual persons and their cohorts be arrested immediately and investigation and necessary steps under the law taken against them.”

In the petition written by his counsel, Barrister  Anthony Rotimi Daramola, Engineer . Olayinka,  specifically demanded the immediate arrest of the alleged ring leader of the suspected ritualists, identified as Leke (a.k.a Lekside) and his cohorts.

” The said Leke and cohorts should be investigated as they have no known job or business that could attest to the stupendous wealth they display. That your men and officers of the Apata division who were invited at the behest of the said Leke be looked into and necessary sanction given.”he stated.

It will be recalled that Engineer Olayinka was last week Thursday attacked and reportedly beaten to stupor by some suspected ritualists numbering about 12 after he reportedly sighted some men and women said to be in procession with rituals in their small clay pots and calabashes with all of them dressed in .white attires, at about 12.00 midnight, at a popular junction in the area called “Up Jesus”.

The Ifelodun Landlords Association Chairman after the attack during which his official vehicle, the Task Force bus of AWDROP in which the association’s Chairman was returning from Saki was vandalised
was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was revived and given medical attention.

The attack on Engineer Olayinka led to the last Saturday protest by landlords and youths in  the community  during which they were demanding that the suspected ritualists should vacate the community over alleged incessant dropping of rituals (sacrifices) at strategic locations within the community.
