All Progressives Congress (APC) Elders from all the zones in Oyo State on Monday passed a vote of confidence on Governor Abiola Ajimobi for his leadership roles in sustaining the party.
The APC Elders however lashed out at members of the Unity Forum over their recent media war against Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
Speaking during a solidarity visit to Governor Ajimobi in his office at the Oyo state Government secretariat, in Ibadan the Oyo state APC Elders described the recent actions of members of the Unity Forum as uncalled for and that their postures were against the belief and political style of the late former governor of the state, Late Alhaji Lam Adesina who they said they were protecting his political empire.
The APC Elders assured Governor Abiola Ajimobi of their unflinching support for him and his administration in his on going transformation of Oyo state, saying, the state has never witnessed tremendous development as been witnessed under the present administration in the state.
Leader of the APC Elders from Oyo zone, Chief S.M Akindele while speaking pointed out that the present factional crisis rocking the ruling All Progressives Congress in Oyo state was not new in politics as it would soon fade away and that the governor only needs to be patient.
The APC leader while urging Governor Ajimobi to forgive the son of former governor of the state,Late Alhaji Lamidi Adesina, Honourable Dapo Lam Adesima for being part of the Splinter group b antagonizing him, adding that it was unfortunate that those behind the APC Splinter group were those he described as “emergency Lamists”
Chief Akindele who lauded Governor Ajimobi for the remarkable achievements recorded by his administration in Oyo state urged
him to be ready to embrace those in the Splinter group, saying, ” they can’t go anywhere, be ready to embrace them, they will surely fail”.
He however assured the governor of all the APC leaders and members across Oyo zone, “we in the APC Oyo zone are solidly behind you
Alhaji Kamaru Ajisafe who led other APC leaders and Elders from Ibadan less City cautioned the Splinter group against embarking on acts capable of destroying the party.
In his comment, Alhaji Femi Yusuf assured Governor Abiola Ajimobi of the total support of the people of Ogbomoso, adding, APC will score 98percent in Ogbomoso ,”Ajimobi is repositioning APC in Oyo state, Ogbomoso people are solidly behind you”
Other APC Elders that spoke during the visit namely Alhaji Mufu Adisa for Ibadan zone, Alhaji Olaide Abass and Chief Sam Laoye (Zonal leader Ibadan less city commended Governor Ajimobi for moving Oyo state forward.
Welcoming the Oyo APC Elders into his office, Governor Ajimobi lamented that all those in the Splinter group have benefited from his administration only to now turned theirselves into enemies of his administration.
Governor Ajimobi stressed that he has forgiven those in the Splinter group and that the zonal leaders on there part should go home and talk to their people.
The Oyo APC leaders at the meeting included Alhaji Olaide Abass, Alhaji Lasisi Ayankojo, Chief Solomon Mojereola, Chief Samuel Adekola, Chief Samuel Laoye, Prince Kunle Sanda, Alhaji Kamorudeen Ajisafe, Chief Sunday Adewale, Alhaji Femi Yussuf, Chief Bashiru Ajibade, Chief Lekan Adeyemo and Dr Adepeju Esan among others.
