Our Projects Are Targeted To Touch Lives Of The People – Wike

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that all the projects being executed by his administration are meant to touch the lives of the people .

According to a statement signed by his Special Assistant Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu, he expressed this while speaking after leading members of the Rivers State House of Assembly and selected leaders on Thursday on project inspection across three local government areas, Governor Wike expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of work at the project sites visited.

The governor and the lawmakers inspected the ongoing construction of the Bonny Jetty, Woji-Akpajo Bridge, landscaping architecture at Airforce overheard bridge, Port Harcourt, Port Harcourt Pleasure Park and the Rivers State Ecumenical Centre.

He said: “These are very worthy projects that will touch the lives of our people. This is our project year and we will continue to deliver on key projects.
“We are satisfied with the level of work done. By May, many of these projects will be on stream. We are fulfilling the pledges we made to the people ”
He explained that he went on the project tour with state lawmakers for them to appreciate the essence of the investments the state is making on behalf of the people.
The governor said that he is happy that the state lawmakers appreciate the progress that his administration has made in terms of projects execution.
He pointed out that the synergy between the State Executive Council and the State Legislature would lead to better projects delivery, as the State Lawmakers would always cooperate with his administration.
“The unity between the State Executive Council and the State Lawmakers is beneficial to the state”, he said.
In an interview, Majority Whip of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Mr Evans Bipi assured that the Assembly will continue to support the governor for his outstanding delivery of projects.
Also speaking, Deputy Majority Whip, Mr Major Jack said that members of the Rivers State House of Assembly are satisfied with with the quality of work at project sites visited.
The State Lawmakers that accompanied the governor on the project tour include: Majority Whip, Evans Bipi, Deputy Majority Whip, Major Jack, Member Representing Omuma State Constituency , Rt. Hon Kelechi Nwogu and Member Representing Port Harcourt State Constituency 3, Mr Tonye Adokiye.

Also on the governor’s entourage were: Former Transport Commissioner, Chief Glory Emeh and Chairman of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission, Chief Oris Onyiri.
