Osun State Government is taking steps to curb the influx of foreign immigrants to the state by declaring the activities of miners illegal.

The Osun State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun, Chief Gboyega Famodun who disclosed this during a Radio programme at Timsed Radio station, Ijebu Jesa at weekend said, government is ready to protect the lives and properties of her citizens.

According to him, since Gold has being uncovered to be the major raw material that bring foreigners to the state without permit, the best thing to do is to declare mining illegal across the state.
He however assured the people of the state that government is above the   board to sustain cordial relationship and peaceful co existence among the people irrespective of their tribe or religion.
Commenting on the multi religious status of the country, he expressed concerns over the adverse effect of religion on the development of the country saying quota system or religion factor in making selection for official purpose counters productivity.
His words, “issues like quota system or Federal character have remained a major problem in Nigeria, whereas America has overcome such religious bottlenecks over the years”.
Unlike in Nigeria where elected Governors and Presidents go to Mosques and Churches for thanks giving, he said they only go to Churches in America where they practice mono religion.
While enumerating achievements of the APC government in the state, he said people’s welfare has being the main focus of the Governor for establishing Life Academy in all the nine Federal constituencies.
Chief Famodun however dissociated himself from those calling for the resignation of the National Chairman of
the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole saying people should allow him to complete his tenure.
He urged the people to cooperate with the National Chairman who he said is carrying the party to greater heights  .
Speaking in the same vein, the Chairman of Oriade Local Government Area, Hon. Olubunmi Obeesun disclosed the progress and various advantages the Life Academy has brought to the Youths of the area.
According to him, the Academy which is situated along Ijeda road in Ijebu Jesa has empowered a good number of unemployed Youths to be self sufficient and employers of Labour.
Hon. Obeesun said, the Academy has trained a good number of Youths in various vocations thereby reducing unemployment among school leavers in the Council area.
Those in the entourage of the APC Chairman to Timsed Radio were Chief Emiola Ogunssnya, Prince Lasore Lekan, Mr. James Adeola and a host of others.
