Former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore on Saturday faultef the 2018 Osun State budget proposal saying it clearly reflected “absolute lack of knowledge of public financing and appropriations process.”
The former deputy governor in a statement made available to newsmen declared that the 2018 Osun state budget was also an indication of incompetence and bankruptcy.
Senator Omisore in the statement by his Media aide, Dr Jide Fatokun stressed that it was unfortunate that the All Progressives Congress (APC) led government can still be blaming the past administrations in the state for its failure after its close to 8years of ruling the state.
“Our attention has again been drawn to the flapping hands of a government drowning in its own ineptitude. The examination of the feasibility and credibility of public sector budgets is a matter for everyone. Senator Iyiola Omisore, a former Deputy Governor in Osun state, firmly asserts that the current Osun state budget not only an indication of incompetence and bankruptcy, but also reflects absolute lack of knowledge of public financing and appropriations process.” he said.
The former deputy governor added that “it remains very sad that after 8 years of the Rauf Aregbesola-led APC government in the state, its leadership still whines in its incompetent game of blaming previous administration, a glaring sign of its inability to respond the budget issues raised by Omisore and the PDP. “
“This is again a bad carpenter blaming his tools. An irresponsible leader shifting blame. Rauf Aregbesola and his team should respond to the key issues in the 2018 Osun budget. NO SALARIES AND HIS GOVERNMENT HAS ACCEPTED ITS INABILITY TO PAY. This story has not changed in 8 years! Always someone else, a sign of ineptitude in leadership.
The question is what has Aregbesola/APC done in almost 8years?
Senator Omisore added that ” in seven and a half years, the A PC has accrued colossal debts of N416b, uncompleted projects of over N500b, N119b salaries and wages arrears of workers, retirees and pensioners, inflated airport and roads projects scam. The state has itself accepted its inability to pay salaries, remains unaccountable for the Paris Club refund, yet it has the audacity to present a budget it can neither fund nor execute.”
The former deputy governor however assured that ;the PDP will Rescue Osun state from the APC misrule ., saying, ” we shall restore competent and visionary leadership that will take informed decisions to restore the state economy and public sector financing”.
