Ondo Police Nabs Notorious Kidnapping Kingpin, Gang Members

The Coordinator of Kidnapers in Ondo State, Sunday Omojuba and some members of his gang are now cooling their nerves at the state Police Command.

Parading the suspects to journalists at the state head quarters in Akure, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Gbenga Adeyanju said, Omojuba had been on the wanted list of the Command since 2016.
According to him, the Kidnappers Coordinator had been linked with several cases of armed robbery and kidnapping in the state for the past four years.
The CP how ever enumerated some of the kidnapping cases which involve Omojuba to include the kidnapping of one Olanike Agbaye who was kidnapped at gun point but was released after the payment of N500,000 Ransome by her family members.
 Another victim, he said was one Oluwatimilehin Olatunji, who was kidnapped on April 17, 2016 in which her family was made to pay a Ransome of N100,000.
The list include Fanegun Seun, who was kidnapped at Okitipupa, adding that she was released after receiving N200,000 from the family.
His words, “detectives of the Special Squad swung into action which led to the arrest of Godwin Ufoma, Philip Ezekiel, Ayodeji Muyijimi and Adebimpe Nuyujimi”.
During interrogation, he said, they all confessed  to the commission of the crime and they all mentioned Omojuba a. k .a as their leader.
Items recovered from Adebimpe Muyijimi according to the CP were 3 locally made pistols and live cartridges which she claimed was given to her by S. M. O for onward delivery to her husband, Ayodeji Omoyijimi.
Other items recovered were two mock guns, one Nigerian Army cardigan and five live cartridges.
He said they had been arraigned at the Special magistrate court on June 20, 2016 even though Sunday Omojuba aka SMO was later arrested at his residence in Ilutitun on January 4, 2018.
Meanwhile, another armed robbery gang was intercepted and arrested while blocking the Jowo/ Emure_Ile while preparing to either rob or kidnapped vehicle owners.
The CP disclosed that it was prompt action of the DPO, SP Sanni Lasisi and other four of his men that led to the arrest of one Jacob Amos Ibe of the robbers while three others are now at large.
