Wife of Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), the Peoples Democratic Party governorship hopeful in Ondo State, Mrs. Eno Jegede, has stressed the need for all stakeholders in the society to regularly fend for the less-privileged while taking campaign to them.
Mrs. Jegede expressed the view in Akure on Tuesday while briefing newsmen on the flag-off of her empowerment programme designed for the less-privileged residents of Ondo State.
On Thursday, November 17, Mrs. Jegede will distribute work tools and other equipment to artisans, traders and small-scale business men and women from Ondo Central Senatorial District, in Akure.
Explaining the reason behind the gesture, Mrs. Jegede said, “I want to start this way with a view to encouraging well-to-do citizens to imbibe the habit of fending for the poor.
“The society cannot be complete, peaceful or sane without us carrying the less-privileged along, through necessary empowerment and assistance.”
Mrs. Jegede added that the empowerment gesture would take place in the remaining two senatorial districts, soon.
