The newly inaugurated Governor of Ondo state, Arakunrin Odunayo Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has been called upon to put God first in all his programmes in the next four years.
Speaking with Journalists in Akure, the Ondo state capital, the Iyalode of Akure Kingdom, Chief Mrs. Cecilia Omotunde Maradesa urged the new Governor to allow a fresh air wipe away the hardship of the past eight years.
According to her, Arakunrin Akeredolu should justify the confidence imposed in him by the people of Ondo state that voted him into power by making life meaningful for them .
She prayed that God should grant him the wisdom to pilot the affairs of the state to a higher level as he received the mantle of power from his predecessor, adding that he should improve on those areas where his predecessor has failed the people.
Snce the people were able to survive the tyranic administration of Dr. Olusegun Mimiko in the last eight years, she said, the new government that is now in place must ensure that the people enjoy dividends of democracy.
Chief Maradesa, who is also the Iyaloja of Ondo state, also advised that Akeredolu should use the advantage of mainstream politics to ensure that enough funds is acrued to the state so that Workers’ salaries will henceforth be paid as at when due.
While assuring the new Governor of the cooperation of all Iyalojas across the state, she said he should introduce those projects that could assist the Market Men and Women improve their trades.
It would be recalled that Dr. Olusegun Mimiko is the first Governor to have two terms of eight years in the history of the state, even though the people had since regreted their action having hard bitter experience of maladministration for those period.
People were filled with joy when the eight years of the two terms came to an end on February 23, 2017 and a new Governor was sworn in on February 24, 2017 with the hope that a new lease of life will be introduced by Akerefolu.
