Ogun PDP: 3 Chairmen emerges from parallel state congresses …Kashamu, Ex-Speaker Bankole, Adebutu produced executives

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State Tuesday produced three parallel state chairmen of the party at separate state congresses.
The congresses were conducted at different locations by the loyalists of the Senator representing Ogun East, Buruji Kashamu; the Member representing Remo Constituency in the House of Representatives, Ladi Adebutu and those of the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, respectively.
At Kashamu congress, held at the party State Secretariat, Chief Bayo Dayo emerged as the state chairman while the Adebutu faction elected a two-time member of the Ogun State House of Assembly and former chairman of Ifo Local Government Area, Sikirulahi Ogundele as their chairman at the congress conducted inside  Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library and Chief Wale Egunleti was elected chairman by Bankole’s group.
The different factions also elected Alhaji Semiu Sodipo; a former Member of the State House of Assembly, Durotolu Bankole and Hon. Johnson Olu Fatoki respectively, as parallel state Secretaries of the party.
Out of the three congresses New Nigerian noticed that only the Kashamu group was monitored by the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The INEC team from the commission’s Electoral and Party Monitoring Department who monitored the exercise included Tunrayo Ayinde, Sanni Ishaq and Momoh Bakare.
Also, the Chairman of the PDP Congress Committee from Abuja, Muhammed Al-Yakub led the other ten members to monitor and conducted that of the Kashamu congress at the state party secretariat.
In his acceptance speech, the State Chairman of the Bankole group, Egunleti appealed to all aggrieved members of the party in the state to sheath their swords and cooperate with the newly elected state exco.
He expressed confidence that the PDP would return to power in the state in 2019.
The factional chairman noted that inspite of the intrigues, misunderstanding and challenges, the party was able to hold a peaceful congress.
Egunleti assured the party leadership at the state and national levels that his new exco members would work for the unification, cooperation and progress of the PDP in the state and the country at large.
Also the State Chairman of the Adebutu faction, Ogundele assured that under him, the party in the state would run an all-inclusive administration where machinery would be put in place to reconcile all aggrieved members.
