The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Abdulmajid Ali, has assured that the perpetrators of savage attack and killings in Imushin community in Ogijo – Sagamu area of the state would not escape justice.
He stated this in Eleweran, the command Headquarters shortly after he decorated newly promoted officers
It would be recalled that last Friday, scores of armed persons suspected to be militants from the restive Niger Delta region invaded  Imushin community in Ogijo, killing three people and injured over a dozen  mainly villagers, before escaping through the creeks.
But on Monday, Ali said the Command had already gotten the attackers’ profiles and other data that would lead to their inevitable arrest and prosecution.
According to him, the suspected militants may want to carry out further attack in future but said the Command would not allow that, adding that the Police will liaise with the local vigilante groups in the area for intelligence gathering and the Navy for effective policing of the waterways.
“On Saturday precisely we have problem at Ijebu Imushin under the Ogiijo Area Command where some of these militants attacked the community.
“We need to put our heads together particularly to liaise with the vigilance group within those communities and also on information gathering.
“These miscreants do come from the creek to attack and run back: this time around, we are not going to allow that. We will liaise with the Naval officers to see how we can protect our waterways. The waterway is becoming so porous in which our Marine cannot handle.
“So, you have to go down to the grassroots; you have to liaise with the locals, you have to work with the locals in order to get enough information on this people.
“We know that they will strike and run back but we need to block them and I want to assure you that those people that perpetuated that evil, will not go scot free, we will definitely get them.
“We are working on it, we have gotten their profile and we have identified them and same with the group that continues with this kidnapping in our areas, we have gotten their profile.
“We have identified them and we are working on them. I want to assure the people of the State that Nigerian Police will continue to perform her responsibilities” Ali stressed.
