ODSFA risks sanction by the state FA
By; Odeyemi Samuel, Akure.
The Ondo State Football Association (FA) has pointed accusing finger at Mr Akin Akinbobola, Chairman, Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA) over the flagrant disregard to the Association.
The state FA also alleged that the Akin Akinbobola-led Ondo State Football Agency often disobeyed its order, adding that it undermined the duty of the Association in the state.
This was contained in a communiqué made available to our correspondent over the weekend after an emergency meeting of the association in Akure, the state capital.
In the communiqué, signed by the FA Chairman and Secretary,  Mr Dele Ajayi and Babatunde Fagite respectively, the ODSFA management was alleged to have taken over virtually all the activities that were meant to be carried out by the FA.
The ODSFA was also alleged to have failed to carry out its statutory financial obligations to the FA and refused to recognize the association in its various activities in the state.
“ODSFA has constantly masterminded hooliganism, thuggery and violence on and off the pitch. The management of ODSFA has consistently disobeyed and disrespected the Ondo State Football Association,” the Ondo State FA alleged.
To this end, the Association directed the management of ODSFA to produce the people that disrupted the match between Sunshine Stars and Lobi Stars at Akure Township Stadium on November 9, 2015, which led to the banishment of Sunshine to Lagos by the League Management Company.
The state FA, in the communiqué, summoned the chairman of the ODSFA, Mr Akin Akinbobola to appear in person before it to defend the allegations.
It noted that failure to comply with the order would lead to heavy sanctions as appropriated by the laws of the National and International Football Associations.
However, the Media Officer of the ODSFA, Mr Wahab Bankole, when contacted on the telephone, said he had no comment until the outcome of the meeting of the FA and the Chairman of the agency.
“I am sure that the matter would be resolved, so there is no problem” Bankole stated.
