Oyo State Coordinator of the Coalition for National Movement (CNM) and former Secretary to the Oyo State Government (SSG), Chief Olayiwola Olakojo on Saturday said the coalition should not be tagged “the third force”.

Chief Olakojo stated this in Ibadan while featuring on a Fresh FM  Programme ” South West Political headquarters” monitored by the New Nigerian.

The former SSG pointed out that the coalition was initiated by the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo as a way of moving Nigeria forward having discovered series of lapses in the running of the country by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He stressed that Chief Obasanjo as a patriotic Nigerian was also of the opinion that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) too on its part cannot provide the much needed leadership qualities to much the country forward resolved into asking Nigerians of like minds to team up in the nurturing of the coalition to salvage the country come 2019.

According to Chief Olakojo, as at present, other similar coalitions are already fusing into the CNM in line with the determinations of some Nigerians at joining hands with Chief Obasanjo in rescuing Nigeria out of its present political and security challenges.

The Oyo state CNM Coordinator said as a way of stabilizing the coalition, no active  member of the registered political parties particularly the APC and the PDP will be allowed to take prominent place in the coalition while moneybags will not be allowed to hijack the coalition for whatever motive.

Chief Olakojo insisted that as at present, the coalition ” is not a political party” as Chief Obasanjo has vowed to back out of the coalition on sensing that there are moves towards turning the coalition to a political party.

He however stressed that should the coalition members after stabilizing it considered it necessary to float a political party, they are free but not with Chief Obasanjo teaming up with such a political party.

On the missions of CNM, the former SSG declared that the mission and the need for such a coalition at this particular period were clearly stated in the Chief Obasanjo’s letter to President Muhammadu Buhari last month.
