The National Chairman of the Atiku Care Foundation, Ambassador Aliyu Ibn Abbas has asked former President Goodluck Jonathan and other Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders to disregard messages from mischief makers making the round, purportedly from former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
He expressed this in a statement released by his spokesman, Jacob Onjewu Dickson on Wednesday in Kaduna, where he said also told the general public to ignore such messages being fabricated and circulated by detractors.
“I therefore urge His Excellency, Goodluck Jonathan, the former President of Nigeria,  PDP National Chairman (Prince Uche Secondus), PDP Governors, the entire PDP family, and the general public to ignore the mischievous report portraying disaffection in the PDP.
“I find it unfortunate to demean the PDP Chairman or his office. Prince Uche Secondus has the requisite experience and skills to lead the party to victory and Atiku is ready to support the party achieve this goal. Long live the PDP, long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Ambassador Abbas said.
He explained that his attention was brought to the baseless reports trending in the media portraying disaffection in the PDP with one of the titles ‘Atiku Speaks Angrily Against PDP’.
“I wish to categorically debunk the reports as untrue, unfounded, misleading, malicious and divisive. There is no misunderstanding whatsoever in the PDP between Atiku, PDP Chairman or the Governors. The report is a total lie and a failed mission.
“Waziri maintains sound mutual relationship with the PDP leadership headed by Prince Uche Secondus, all PDP Governors, PDP stakeholders and the entire PDP family. The party is united to salvage Nigerians from poverty and languish, unemployment, injustice, youth neglect and hopelessness perpetrated by the APC led Government,” he added.
Further, he said that from his knowledge, “Alh. Atiku Abubakar (Waziri Adamawa), the former Vice President of Nigeria and His Excellency Goodluck Jonathan, the former President of Nigeria never had a meeting on endorsing Atiku or any candidate ahead of the 2019 general elections.
“The question is how could he have been endorsed when he has not yet declared his ambition?” He queried.
He concluded by saying the sponsors are shameless cowards, who feel threatened by Atiku’s growing popularity.
“I have no doubt that the said reports may have been sponsored by weak and shallow-minded political nonentities that lack strategy to gain popularity or who want to cause division in the PDP.
“The perpetrators of the childish reports should know that they cannot fool Nigerians with cheap blackmail or drag the good name of Waziri into the mud,” he concluded.
