NLNG Prize For Science Announces 2018 Theme

The theme of the year 2018 Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) Prize for Science has been announced by the Chairman, Advisory Board of the Nigeria Prize for Science, Professor Alfred Susu.

“The 2018 competition will be focusing on Innovations In Electric Power Solutions,” Susu disclosed.

He said the topic was chosen in continuation of the NLNG’s aspiration of finding solutions to Nigeria’s socio-economic problems.

“Nigeria LNG and the Advisory Board for Science Prize have set out to find solutions to our power problems through scientific research works,” Susu declared.

He, therefore, on behalf of Nigeria LNG, called on every well-meaning Nigerian, especially the industrialists, to encourage more research works in Nigeria by supporting Nigerian scientists to do more applicable works that will support the development of Nigeria.

He stressed that NLNG Prize was designed to help build a better Nigeria.

Susu expressed disappointment with the attitude of the government of Nigeria towards the spirit, aims and objectives of the NLNG prize.

According to him, he had expected that government ought to know that only Nigerians will develop Nigeria.

“We thought that Nigerian government will be interested in the technology that only Nigeriasns can develop here in Nigeria, but they were not< but we are still waiting,” Susu who won the maiden edition of the NLBNG Prize for Science in year 2004 emphasized.
