Not less than nine firms are jostling to win Nigerian Railway Corporation’s (NRC) electronic ticketing (e-ticking) contract bidding, as the corporation begins e-ticking operation by September 2018.
NRC’s Managing Director, Engr. Fidelis Okhiria who disclosed the development also highlighted the merits of the innovation. With this development, according to him, prospective customers can make bookings for ticket online.
He pointed out the tender for the bid has been signed at the NRC headquarters in Lagos by all the bidders.
Okhiria said the bidders are: Turn Around Engineering Ltd., Secure ID Ltd., Catamara Nigeria Ltd., Soft Alliance and Resources Ltd./Network Nigeria Ltd.,. Others are: First Index Project and Services Ltd as well as Euphoria Press Ltd.
The managing director also reeled out other new developments in the NRC. These include test-running of Itakpe-Warri standard gauge railway line. Another is the movement of fuel from Lagos to Dagbolu, near Osogbo, Osun State.
