National Chairman and former Presidential candidate of the National Action Council (NAC) Dr. Olapade Agoro has alerted of an alleged move by the National Assembly to cripple the anti-corruption war of the present administration.
Dr Agoro who raised the alarm in a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan declared that “corruption is seriously fighting back in the national polity”.
According to the NAC leader the purported Senate’s indictment of some key officials in President Muhammadu Buhari’s government had left nobody in doubt that their next target is the President himself.
“The unfolding scenario reveals the corrupt animals being hunted hotly chasing Buhari  the hunter. Or how can one classify the fact that almost all of the key officials in President Muhammadu Buhari’s government in particular the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, David Babayo Lawal; the Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari; the  acting Chairman of EFCC, Ibrahim Magu are now on the list of those  seriously indicted for corruption”he said.
Dr Agoro stressed that the unfolding scenario reveals the corrupt animals being hunted hotly chasing Buhari the hunter, saying “there is nobody to be deceived anywhere the global sphere of the fact that General Muhammadu Buhari came into office of the President, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria, the year 2015 with the primary intention to execute the programme he thought he knew best how to perform than anybody else i.e. the fight against corruption”.
He added that President Buhari enjoyed largely the support of the Western World on his anti-corruption fighting credentials in a particular period Goodluck Jonathan was seen an agent of evils of corruption and fleecing”.
“The search light can be seen seriously pointing also in the direction of the Chief Law officer of the Federation. It portends the fact that after all the pillars supporting the anti-corruption structure had fallen, Muhammadu Buhari, the anti corruption crusader would be the end of the road to corruption shaming game”.
The NAC National Chairman stressed that “the man to be blamed would be no one else than President Buhari who rode to power on the back of the very dangerous corruption tigers.”
