Nasarawa State Government has promised that the state government will sustain the 100 per cent payment of salaries of local government workers.
The state Commissioner for Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Haruna Osegba, who disclosed this Thursday, in Lafia during the Joint Account Committee meeting of LGAs, explained that government decided to end the era of percentage payment since September 2018 to improve the living standard of council workers.
The commissioner, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Bala Sani, added that the government would continue to pay full salaries as at when due, even if there was shortfall or delay in allocations.
It would be recalled that the LG workers had been paid in percentages since September 2016.
