Lawmaker Aids Constituents with N3m Free Surgery

Alhaji Muhammad Dan’asabe-Chokali, member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly representing Zaria-Kewaye constituency on the platform of APC has spent N3 million on free surgery, treatment and distribution of drugs to patients afflicted with various diseases in his constituency.
Dan’asabe-Chokali stated this while speaking with Journalists shortly after flagging off of the exercise at Dandutse Primary Healthcare Centre, Tudun-Wada, Zaria.
The lawmaker said the gesture was meant to check the spread of the frequent ailments bedeviling the people.
He said the exercise would be conducted in collaboration with some Resident Doctors from the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Zaria.
According to him, the doctors will diagnose, treat and prescribe drugs for the patients.
“Apart from that, those with severe cases that require surgery, such patients will be referred to ABUTH for operation on my bill.
“This is with a view to fulfilling my campaign promises. Apart from that, we will soon settle WAEC, NECO and JAMB fees for 2016/2017 candidates in my constituency,’’ he said.
The APC Zonal Chairman, Zone one, Alhaji Abubakar Rilwanu, lauded the lawmaker’s gesture, saying, “as a party, APC must appreciate your efforts because you have been able to fulfill some of the promises made to the electorate”.
Dr Waziri Aliyu-Dahiru, the President of the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) ABUTH branch, expressed happiness over the lawmaker’s gesture.
“As Doctors, we have been trying to assist patients in all ramifications. It is our responsibility to do so and we will continue to do so” he said.
