Law For All Kaduna Residents To Be Registered Passed By Assembly

The Kaduna State House of Assembly has passed into law the bill to establish an agency that would provide residents cards to the people in the state.
The plenary which was presided over by the Speaker, Aminu Abdullahi Shagali said the main function of the bill is to provide residency cards for all residents in the State and also create a reliable data base of all residents for Planning and Development.
Meanwhile the Kaduna State Landlord and Tenant Bill which is aiming at regulating the rights and obligations under tenancy agreements between Landlords and premises and for connected purposes was also passed.
Section 11 sub section 1 of the bill says that “where there is no prior written agreement between parties as to the notice to be given by the landlord to the tenant to determine the tenency.
“This implies that any warrant to give possession of the premises to the person named in the warrant or to whom it may be directed shall justify entry by him with such assistance from the police provided that no execution shall be made on a Sunday or public holiday,” it stated
The bill cited as Cultural Heritage (Protection and Conservation )Agency Law,2017 was also passed in to law.
The bill aimed at enhancing, maintaining and management of cultural antiquity, arts and crafts in the state with certain provisions contained in the bill which needs to be amended in order to take care of lapses that might occur when the Law eventually comes in to effect and that the Kaduna State History Bureau, CAP 69 law 1975 stands repealed.
Similarly, The Bill for the Establishment of Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans board also received passage in to Law aiming at setting up students loan scheme in collaboration with financial institutions.
