President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday commissioned two newly acquired MI 35 helicopters to combat rising crimes in the country. 

The president explained that his administration remained committed to protection of Nigerian national integrity.

He said his government will overcome all challenges to security and development of the country.

The President Represented by Defense Minister, Muhammad Mansur Dan-Ali, lauded the force for the fit it has attained in the past 54 years of active defense of national security.

“let me reiterate our commitment and firm resolve to take this Nation to the next level.

“We remain determine to overcome all challenges to our security and development.”he said

Buhari urged well-meaning Nigerians to join hands with him to make the dream of greatness of the country a reality.

In his remarks Chief of Air Staff, Air Mashal Sadique Baba Abubakar said 5,000 airmen and airwomen have been added to the force within the past three years to deal with security challenges threatening Nigerian integrity.

“The commitment of Mr President and current administration is appreciated. This is evident in procurement of 10 Super Mushak and payment of two Super Tukano jet to address the security challenges in the country.” he said.

NAF was established by a statutory Act of Parliament in April 1964 to achieve a full complement of the military defense system of the Federal Republic of Nigeria both in the air and on the ground amongst other roles.
