The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Hon Gbara Edman Erelo has expressed delight over the visit of Rivers State Governor, Chief (Barr) Nyesom Ezenwo Wike to the Ken Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic and other State Government funded project sites in Bori.
In a press statement issued on Monday, the CTC Chairman described the visit as heartwarming and a clear demonstration of Governor Wike’s love for the people of Ogoni, students of the institution and all those doing business in the area.
While commending the Governor for putting the development of Ogoni on the front burner of his administration, the Chairman particularly lauded his promise to upgrade facilities in the Polytechnic.
He described the Governor as one who has consistently matched his promises with action, adding “If he said it, he will surely do it; and this institution would soon become a world-class Polytechnic”.
The Chairman also assured the Governor that his administration would continually enjoy the support of all Ogonis, especially with the recognition and appointment of Ogoni people into sensitive positions in government by Governor Wike.
Hon. Erelo called on Ogonis to reciprocate this gesture by supporting the lofty programmes of the Governor, tailored towards developing Ogoni land in particular and Rivers State in general.
The Khana CTC boss further enjoined Ogonis to support the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which he said, was divinely given to Rivers people, adding that PDP is the undisputable vehicle that would take Ogonis and Rivers people to the Promised Land.
