Keshi: Kaduna SWAN declares 3-day mourning

‎Kaduna State Chapter of the Sport Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has described as shocking and painful the sudden death of erstwhile Super Eagles Captain and Coach Late Stephen Keshi.
A condolence statement issued by the Secretary of the state chapter, Beni Adams prayed God to grant his family, the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) and the sports world the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
According to the statement, “Following the shocking news of the sudden death of Stephen Okechukwu Keshi, the Big Boss, the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kaduna State Chapter joins the Sports fraternity in commiserating with the family, the  NFF and the Sports World over this great loss.
“Stephen Keshi, no doubt is the most successful black African coach of all time, one of two people to win the Cup of nations as a player and coach, and the only black African to coach in the knockout phase of a world cup.
“This and many more achievement has endeared Keshi to millions around the world.
“We pray that God will grant the family the fortitude to bare this irreparable loss.”
SWAN Kaduna State chapter has declared a 3-day mourning period for the late football player and coach ‎who has made Nigeria proud at home and internationally.
“In recognition of late Keshi’s numerous contribution, we have ‎declared a 3-day mourning period as a mark of respect for the football legend” the statement added.
