KDHA passes State Geographic Information Service; Investment and Promotions Bills into Law

Kaduna State House of Assembly has passed into law the Bill for the establishment of the Kaduna State Geographic Information Service (KADGIS).
The Bill which seeks to address issues related to land acquisition and ownership in the state will proffer solutions to various problems associated with land administrative system in the state.
Speaking after the passage of the bill, the Chairman, Committee on Land and Survey, Honourable Ibrahim Ismail, said the law will enhance speedy processing of land particulars.
According to him, “the law which is related to land acquisition and ownership, which we know have been posing some challenges to the system. With this Law, it will not take a long time to process a Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) and there won’t be cases of land discrepancies any longer.
“We have captured the lands in the state and once you come, our systems will locate the particular land in question and that makes the process easy”, he added.
Similarly, the Bill seeking to enhance investment and business activities in the state (Kaduna State Investment and Promotions Bill 2015) was also passed into Law.
Speaking after the passage of the bill, the Chairman Committee on Commerce and Industries, Honourable Salisu Isah, member representing Magajin Gari/Barnin Gwari constituency said the Law will enhance investment and other trading activities that will occupy the productive time of most people in the state.
Honourable Isah called on the public to maximize this opportunity to continue to give the government their support as it works towards boosting business activities in the state.
Also on the floor of the House, the legislators unanimously adopted the report of the committee on the 2016 budget appropriations, describing it as a true representation of the wishes of the law makers as penned down during various committee budget defense.
Speaking after the adoption of the report, the Chairman of the committee, Honourable Ahmed Mohammed thanked the members for the opportunity to serve in that capacity and called on the general public to exercise patience with the present administration and support its determination to move the state forward.
