Katsina/Kaduna Customs Realizes N852m In August

In compliance with the mandate of the service on revenue generation, anti-smuggling and trade facilitation, Kaduna and Katsina States Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has generated over 852 million Naira for the Month of August, 2018.

The Comptroller in charge of the Command, Mr Oyeleke Abdulrazak told journalists in his office that the amount surpassed the monthly target with the sum of 342 million Naira.

“It is worth mentioning that, this amount surpasses the proceeding Months based on the monthly revenue target.” Mr Abdulrazak added.

On anti-smuggling for the period under review, he said 81 seizures worth 32.8 million Naira were made.

Mr Oyeleke emphasised that the seized Items include :- 606 bags of 50Kg foreign rice, 239 bags of 50Kg imported sugar, 73 bales of second hand clothing, 327 Jerry cans of Vegetable oil (25 Litres each), as well as 28 Motor Vehicles of Various kind, One Truck and Two Motor Cycles.

According to the Customs Comptroller Oyeleke Abdulrazak, the achievement was in tandem of the Customs Intelligence Unit (CIU) and other units of the Command.

He enjoined public to approach Customs formations any where in the Country for enquiries regarding procedures on how to go about doing legitimate businesses.

He appealed to parents, clergy and traditional rulers to admonish their children and members of the society against the evils of smuggling.

Mr. Abdulrazak solicited for more cooperation in terms of giving useful information that would help Customs Operations Nationwide.
