Katsina Assembly Speaker Wins Reps Bye Election

Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Alhaji Abubakar Yahaya Kusada of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared winner of the Kankia, Kusada and Ingawa Federal Constituency bye -election into the House of Representatives conducted On Saturday, November 17, this year.

The Chief Returning officer, Professor Adebayo Hamza of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) who announced the result in Kankia said Alhaji Yahaya Kusada scored 48,518 Votes against his opponents Alhaji Abdussamad Yusuf of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 20,193 Votes, Alhaji Nasiru Kankia of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) Scoring 1,810 Votes and Alhaji Abdullahi Umar of the Yes Electorate Solidarity (YES) Scored 221 Votes respectively.
Speaking to journalists separately in Kankia, Managing Director of the Federal Mortgage Bank, Architecture Ahmed Musa Dangiwa and Senator Ahmed Babba Kaita described the bye -Election as well organized, peaceful  and conducted under good conditions of atmosphere.
