An inter-house sports competition was held at Kano Air Force Comprehensive School (AFCS) on Saturday, where four squadrons participated in a colourful ceremony held at the school’s sports complex, with invited dignitaries in attendance.
The houses that participated in the competition and categorised into squadrons include, Alpha Squadron, Jaguar Squadron, Puma and Dormier squadrons.
In his address, the commandant of the school, Squadron leader EJ Ichimi disclosed that AFCS will continue to give sound and quality education to the younger generations and thanked all the members of the organising committee, the invited guests and students for making the occasion more colourful.
Squadron Leader Ichimi commended the special guests, parents and guardians and the commandant, Wing Commander I.K. Namakka who graced the sports competition despite his tight schedule as one of the special guests that were invited to witness the ceremony.
Most of the students, parents and other invited guests that had series of interviews with our correspondent disclosed that Air Force Comprehensive School Kano is the best academy that gives sound education to the young ones and at the grassroots level.
They also commended the commandant of the school, Squadron leader E J Ichimi for governing the school towards a successful learning institution, and all the staff, the sports co-ordinators and the security personnel of the school that maintained the safety measures at the school.
Furthermore, all the invited guests including parents, guardians as well as government representatives stormed the sports venue for the competition and presentation of the awards to the respective competitors and the invited dignitaries.
Air Force Comprehensive School Kano was established in the year 2011 to provide basic academic education and boarding facilities as co-educational academy that provides citizens with excellent academic performance which is being seen today.
Similarly, the school has experienced and qualified teachers categorized into three wings namely academic, administrative and students wings, while two sets of students were graduated between 2016 and 2017 which amounts to 197.
