The Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Architect Barnabas Bala Bantex on Wednesday said the state government spends three billion Naira on education annually.
Architect Barnabas Bala Bantex who represented Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai, disclosed this during the graduation ceremony of students of Community Skills Development Centre (COSDECs) beneficiaries, in Kaduna.
According to him, Kaduna State Government, in partnership with MAFITA, established the school to economically empower the most vulnerable youths-Almajirai, school dropouts, orphans, less privileges and those with disabilities-by training them in skill acquisition of any trade of their choice.
He stated that, as they graduate today, all 540 of the students are now going into gainful employment by investors, like Blue Camel Energy who are currently in the state.
He assured the public that Kaduna State Government will continue to support the school so as to provide investors with a vibrant skilled labor force in the state.
He urged the youths to be committed, and participate in the programs of the state hence this is a life expanding activities for their future.
In a remark, Commissioner for Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Kaduna state Mrs Ruth G. Alkali, said they are graduating about, 540 youths in the community care development.
Their youths which comprise 18 to 24 years, the young men and women have made something good out of their lives, by being an employee, they were marginalized from different areas.
She stated that, after one year of training, the institutions have witnessed great improvement through garment making, electrical installation, carpentry, office management, mentoring and hospitality, this was implemented by the National Board for Technical Education (NABC).
Many have expressed their commitment during their industrial attachment in various capacities, this is avenue of creating job and employable in the state.
They have enrolled about 1,260 new students who received training in this field, they are working towards establishing skills excellent in providing them job.
With the introduction of apprenticeship initiative for the teaming youths, the local government represented the three senatorial zone have identify, 1,260 youths have received training, 3,200 beneficiaries to work with 800 nautical three additional trainers this bring to the total of 4460 youths.
She commended the leadership of state government for their good work and support towards making Community Skills Development Centre (COSDECs) a success in the state.
It was a colourful graduation ceremony as the Kaduna State Cultural troops and the Cultural troops from Community Skills Development Centre (COSDECs) displayed their traditional outfits to beautiful the occasion.
There was various presentation by the school management of Community Skills Development Centre (COSDECs) who presented gifts to the best students.
