Kaduna residents have continued to beg those in authority to come to their aid by finding a lasting solution to the lingering fuel scarcity that is making life unbearable as a result of hiked up transport fares and prices of essential commodities.

Following the shortage of fuel that has existed before the Christmas and New Year celebrations, and is still existing with long queues of vehicles at filling stations dispensing the product, New Nigerian sampled the reactions of residents in metropolis to know what the situation means to them.
Speaking with our reporter, Mrs. Alice Oguntokun an Insurance Broker said, the situation is becoming harsher especially with the federal government saying there’s no end in sight.
“When your government, the 6th oil producing country in the world says its people should die, then there’s a problem. The hike in transportation fare is causing a corresponding increase of food items, because food items are shipped here by vehicles and these vehicles use fuel, what then do you want the people to do,” she queried.
She added that the present government has failed Nigerians and should not bother thinking of coming back 2019.
According to her, the administration has not fulfilled any of its electoral promises and therefore leave as soon as possible.
In her reaction, Mrs. Sarah Bulus a banker is of the opinion that 2018 will be far better than 2017 and urged Nigerians to be patient and support the government’s resolve to moving the county forward.
“Nothing good comes easy, Buhari’s administration is doing all that is possible to find a lasting solution to the lingering fuel scarcity, after all, this is not strange to us, so, why are we blaming the present government alone,” she queried.
Mr. Timothy Adamu a bus driver appealed to NNPC, government and oil marketers to resolve the fuel situation and save the common man from extinction.
“These people should know we are dying, they should put in place policies that will alleviate our sufferings. Things are getting worse everyday, families can hardly feed. They should please agree and put this fuel issue behind us,” he pleaded.
