Kaduna PDP Guber Primaries: Ashiru, Yero, Mainan Zazzau Looking Confident As Voting Begins

Former governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, former House of Representatives member, Honourable Isah Ashiru Kudan and Dr. Sani Bello who was said to have stepped down for Kudan were spotted looking confident as voting began to elect the flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

As at 5:19pm, just delegates from two local government areas had cast their votes.

A total of 2,654 delegates are expected to vote before the main challenger for incumbent Governor Nasir el-Rufai will emerge.

The atmosphere has so far been calm and under control amidst tight security from the Nigerian Police Force, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps and the Kaduna State Vigilante Services (KADVIS).

For now, 10 candidates are represented by agents on the podium, one was  said to have stepped down, while another withdrew from the contest.
