Following the incessant attacks on villages around Godogodo axis of Jema’a local government area of Kaduna State, a House of Assembly Member representing the area, Honorable Abarishe Tela, has called for the redployment of the Kafanchan Police Area Commander and the Kafanchan Divisional Police Officer (DPO).
The lawmaker who made the call while speaking in an interview with newsmen in Kaduna said the Officers in question were not
capable of handling the security situation in the area.
According to him, Godogodo axis had been under intense siege by suspected herdsmen since the second quarter of this year, causing the locals to flee their villages for safety.
He accused the police Area Commander of not obeying the state Security Council directives to station police in the affected communities.
He called on the people of the area to shun their differences, forgive one another and continue to leave as one big family.
The legislature dismisses the claims that affected villages have been designated as Cattle Grazing Reserves by the government.
In a related development, the Chairman House Committee on Information in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Nuhu Goroh Shadalafiya, called on the youth of the area to be law abiding and not to take laws into their hands but always report to the appropriate authority.
It could be recalled that last Saturday, Godogodo which has been holding thousands of displaced persons was attacked by suspected armed herdsmen leading to the killing of four vigilante members, while three people were killed in Dogon Daji and houses were burnt in Antang village.
