Kaduna Electric forms Corporate Intelligence Squad

By; Amos Tauna, Kaduna.
The Management of Kaduna Electric, the operator of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company has constituted a Corporate Intelligence Squad to monitor the conduct and activities of the staff and ensure compliance to industry standard and international best practices.
The Managing Director\CEO of the Company, Engineer Garba Haruna, made it known in Kaduna during an interactive session with the staff of the Company.
He stressed that the squad shall operate covertly, ensure that the conducts, attitudes and behaviours of the staff conform to the company’s code of conduct and business best practices.

He warned that any staff found to be exhibiting character unworthy of his office or undermining the effort of the management of ensuring efficient service delivery shall be shown the way out forthwith.

According to him, “the guiding philosophy of the management is efficient service delivery and customers’ centricism and the management shall leave no stone unturned to achieve this.”
He therefore appealed to customers of the company to reciprocate its gesture by paying their bills promptly, warning the staff to desist from doing anything, including making unsubstantiated allegation against their colleagues that will bring the image of the company into disrepute.

He assured that all reported cases shall be thoroughly investigated and treated with all fairness, justice and in good conscience.

A cross section of the staff interviewed after the interactive session welcomed the idea and believed that the existence of the Intelligence squad would keep the staff constantly on their toes.

A strategic management expert who does not want his name in print affirmed that the corporate intelligence squads were the unseen hands that serve as control mechanism in corporate organisations.
According to him, in big multi-national corporations, besides ensuring compliance to performance standard by the workers, they provide intelligence on competitors and help to put a company in more competitive advantages.
