Residents of Juji community in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State,  on Sunday, lamented lack of good access roads and electricity in the area.

The people said due to lack of roads and power, life has become unbearable in the community.

According to them, Juji is about 6 kilometres to Abuja express way and is not motorable during the rainy season.

The Youth Leader, Hosea Bawa made the plea while addressing journalists over the plight of people of the community.

He explained that there was nothing like development in the area due to absence of social amenities, hence the need for their lamentation.

“We are not finding life easy in Juji because we don’t have electricity and good roads. Our roads are terribly bad that we find it difficult to ply  during the rainy season.

“Most times, it get flooded that we have to trek 13-14 kilomiters to get to Sabo area.we also don’t have Primary Health care making live more difficult for our pregnant wives and children,” he said.

The youth leader also commended the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Kaduna Chapter for promising to make life a bit better for the residents.

” The engineers promised to provide us with a transformer, cables and also to help  install the only transformer we have in the community so that we will also be connected with electricity.

“We appreciate their efforts for coming to our rescue. We look foward to the day residents of Juji will start to enjoy electricity like other communities in the state,” he said.

Mr Hosea also expressed worry over lack of primary healthcare in Juji a community with over 1,075 households.

” Our pregnant women hardly go to ante natal because we have no PHC in the community. This made one of our elders to donate two plots of land to the community to build a PHC,” he said.

He therefore, called on the state government to come to their rescue and provide them with social amenities  to better their lives like any other citizens of the country.
