Judge warns Lawyers on dress code, discipline

A High Court Judge in Kaduna State, Justice Binta Fatima Zubairu has warned practising lawyers operating in Zaria on discipline and dressing in accordance with the doctrine of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
She stated this at the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected executive members of NBA, Zaria branch held at High Court, G.R.A. in Zaria.
She lamented that some practising lawyers in the area dress shabbily like ordinary clients, which she said, was against the ethics of the profession.
The judge advised members of the bench to be humble, disciplined and always prepare their cases before appearing in court.
While congratulating the new executives for emerging victorious in the election, Zubairu called on them to carry all manner of people along for the success of the association.
In his speech, the Caretaker Committee Chairman, Dr Abubakar Mohammed-Madaki advised members to project the image of the profession by maintaining mutual respect, discipline and respect for law profession.
He congratulated the members for exhibiting high sense of responsibility, decorum, discipline and understanding during and after the election which according to him resulted in such a colourful celebration.
Responding, the newly sworn-in Chairman, Augustine Agom pleaded for support and cooperation from all members to enable the new leadership run a collective administration.
He promised to uphold the virtues of unity, tolerance and discipline among members with a view to taking the association to greater heights.
