In an effort to fulfil his promise during th electioneering campaigns the Jigawa State government has approved the sum of over five billion naira for the construction of six Township Roads across the state.
The state Commissioner of Information Alhaji Babandi Ibrahim Gumel disclosed this shortly after the state executive council meeting held at the Government House yesterday.
According to the Commissioner , the local governments to benefit from the Township Roads include Gwaram, Karkarna, Kiri Kassamma , Taura, and Gwiwa local government Councils adding that the council has also approved two Hundred and seventy nine million for the six consultancy firms assigned to handle the road construction work..
Gumael revealed that over one Hundred and twelve million was approved to serve as a palliative measure to agricultural sector and the plights of the flood disaster victims across the state adding that the sum of thirty three million was released for the rehabilitation and renovation of Kafin Hausa School, for Remedial Studies and procurement of Science laboratory equipment across the state.
The Commissioner also revealed that over forty three million Naira was released for the renovation of Staff quarters in Dutse, Gawuna, and Baure among others.
He said that the EXCO had received a report of the committee on Hadejia Internally Generated Revenue and proper attention would be given on the recommendations made by the committee adding that the council also noted with delight the brilliant performance of one of the female students of the Bamaina Academy School for the gifted Hajiya Hauwa Lawan who participated in the recently concluded national competetion and clinched second position.
