Intern donates generating set to Azare hospital
By; Mohammed Kawu, Bauchi.
In what could be described as personal effort to reduce infant mortality and improve health care delivery in General Hospital Azare in Katagum local government area of Bauchi state, an Industrial Training student with the hospital, Nadia Ali Mohammed has donated a new generating set (TG-2700) to the laboratory Unit..
Nadia, a 300 level student with the Department of Biochemistry of the Bauchi State University, Gadau Campus, told newsmen in Bauchi that the generating set is meant to ease the problem of power supply mitigating against blood storage in the hospital laboratory.
The student, who explained that the generating set will promote power supply for carrying out tests in the laboratory, said her concern was born out of the pathetic situation patients and their relatives undergo before obtaining test results, blood transfusion, treatment and prescription.
Nadia noted that lack of power supply especially at the laboratory section of the hospital has hampered the operations of available equipment and the only functional blood bank at the hospital.
She hinged that the donation was made possible by the support of her husband, Nazeef Aliyu Mohammed who gave her the money to purchase the generating set.
