Insurgency: Group Supports IDPs School With N120m

It its efforts to cater for the educational needs of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP), the Victim  Support Fund (VSF), has provided N120 million Naira worth of educational supports to IDOs schools in Adamawa State.
Executive Director of the fund, Prof. Sunday Ochoche,  Presenting  in Sangere a suburb  of  Yola said, 370 IDP children in Lassa and Yola center will benefit from the Education Must Continue Initiative (EMCI).
According to him, the support VSF is presenting is emotionally unique because all the children are real victims of Boko Haram.
“This is the only school that was set up exclusively for children who are victims of insurgency, VSF is in the process of completely restructuring 24  schools valued at N1.5 billion in the three states of Borno Yobe and Adamawa”, he stated.
While commending the VSF for its intervention in educating the children, Ochoche stated that 100,000 children from the three states would benefit from VSF educational program.
“ VSF was provided with 24 tents to serve as classrooms for it schools in Adamawa and Borno alongside desks, text books, bags and other learning materials”
,Ochoche also addied that the  pupils would soon be provided with uniforms while some of them that  were orphans would be considered for further support under the foster care Programme of VSF.
“ A substantial number of the school children would be integrated in to the Foster Care Parents Program of the  fund after identifying the homes”, he disclosed .
Chairman of the EMCI  Board of Trustee, Mr.  Paul Gadzama and the founder of the school, Mrs Palmata Edward lauded VSF for its sustain support to the initiative.
The VSF director also visited Michika Local Government area where he
handed over six blocks of classrooms reconstructed by the fund.
Hon.Adamu Kamale appreciated the VSF, Federal and state government for
their efforts towards rebuilding structures destroyed by Boko Haram
insurgent.
Kamale urged donor agencies to, support the rehabilitations processes
as government efforts alone is not enough.
