Implement 30 per cent youth representation in governance – NYCN to govt
By;  BAYO AKAMO, Ibadan.

Oyo State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria,(NYCN) Comrade Akeem Ayo Babalola has urged government at various levels to implement the 30 percent representation in governance.
Comrade Babalola who made the call in Ibadan while speaking at the annual Shafaudeen Brothers Daawah Movement declared that those presently parading themselves as youths in government were not representing Nigerian youths.
Emphasizing the need for the Federal and State Governments to include the youth in their policy decision as Nigerian youths are no longer ready to take to confrontation with the authorities, Babalola said youths in the country have resolved to adopt strategy and not confrontation in demanding their rights from government.
The Chairman lauded the spiritual head of Shafaudeen in Islam, Prof Sabit Ariyo Olagoke, for his exemplary leadership style particularly to the Muslim youth urging all parents to emulate his policy in nurturing their children and wards.
In his speech captioned “Sustainable Development: Challenges of youth active participation in Nigeria”, Professor Olagoke advised Nigerian youths not to sit back un-concerned and let change happen. He said “everything is possible if the youth is well sensitized with the will to let it happen, then everything in the SDGS functional is highly possible”.
Olagoke also pleaded with the state and federal governments to speedily address youth unemployment in Nigeria as promised during the electioneering campaigns, adding that no country with high youth unemployment can have security as devil often finds work for idle people.
The Cleric however charged Nigerian youths not to demand for their rights through confrontation, but apply strategy. He assured that he was confident this administration would not let them down.
