Former Deputy Governor of Osun State, and Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship aspirant, Senator Iyiola Omisore, on Friday disclosed that he is capable of winning the September 22 Osun State governorship election if emerges the SDP candidate for the election.
Senator Omisore stated this while speaking shortly after he obtained SDP nomination and expression of interest form at the SDP National Secretariat in Abuja.
The SDP governorship aspirant declared that if emerged as the next governor of Osun state through the September 22 election, he is ready to move the state forward in the right direction and will not disappoint the people of Osun state.
” I am sure that very soon I will emerge as the governor of Osun State. I will do my best to emerge through free and fair primaries. We should put the past issues behind us and move forward. I promise the party, Nigerians and the people of Osun State that I will not fail.We will deliver Osun State to SDP. Nigerians are tired of PDP and other parties.”
Senator Omisore lamented that as at present, “Osun State is the worst governed state in this country”, saying,””he state is in intensive care now and it needs someone with experience, a person who has done it before to emerge and govern the state.”
Speaking, the SDP National Secretary, Shehu Gabam, assured that SDP is determined to conduct free and fair primaries in Osun and
that the party was convinced that Senator Omisore would deliver Osun State to SDP.
Mr Gabam emphasized that come 2019, the SDP would provide the next president of Nigeria in 2019.
Former Minister of Information and leader of SDP, Professor Jerry Gana, said SDP will surely go far beyond 2019 election, adding that Nigerians should be ready for SDP to transform the nation from poverty to prosperity.
“The SDP has put together some of the best brains in the land. We will give meaning to governance that produce development. Your vote will count in Osun State and we shall win.”
