Iguodala, Musa Win Sunfit Junior Squash Tourney

Tournament’s favourite Clinton Iguodala has won the maiden Sunfit National Junior Squash tournament for U-16 and U-13 players.
Iguodala who displayed some good skills at the entertaining finals defeated his opponent, Emmanuel Sunday by 3-1 of 12/10, 7/11, 11/4 and 11/7 to emerge winner of the week long championship.
In the female category, Aminat Musa recorded a 3-0 victory 11/4, 11/8 and 11/8 over Rukayat Oladumoye in a one sided encounter to emerge winner.
Also in the boy’s U- 13 category, Daniel Nzei defeated his sibling, Wisdom Nzei by 12/10, 11/6. 12/4. 5/11 and 11/7 to win the title while Jouitah La’ah defeated Mistura Durpsilpru by 11/3,11/6 and  ,11/4 to win the girl’s category.
Speaking on his victory, Iguodala noted that hard work gave him victory even as he  applauded ex- squad professionals for organising the championship in conjunction with Sunfit Fitness and Spa, Amuwo- Odofin, Lagos.
” I’m very happy to have won because my opponent is a good and experienced player and gave me a good fight. It was my determination and hard work that gave me victory and I hope to improve on my form and win more laurels.
President of Nigeria Squash Racket Federation, Boye Oyerinde who was represented by Alhaji Yinka Durosiloru thanked the sponsors for investing in the tournament hoping that it would be an annual event.
He also appealed to corporate organisations and public spirited individuals to emulate the company and sponsor more grassroots competitions.
” Kudos must go to Sunfit Fitness and Spa for collaborating with ex- squash professionals to organise the tournament.
“There is the need for corporate organisations and public spirited individuals to emulate them and sponsor more of such competitions to discover hidden talents that would be nurtured to become future champions.
