Former Minister of Sports and one of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Chairmanship aspirants in the recently conducted PDP National Convention, Professor Taoheed Adedoja has disowned the newly formed “fresh PDP”

Professor Adedoja who was receiving his supporters at his Ikolaba residence in Ibadan on Tuesday described the insinuations that he was behind the formation of the splinter group as not only  false but  unreasonable.

The former Minister said the fact that he sued the PDP  on the ground that his name was omitted from the ballot papers during the convention should not be seen as a move to  dump the party for any other party and that there is the need for the PDP leaders to avoid impunity for the progress of the party.

He maintained that as at present, entreaties were being made by prominent Nigerians for dialogue with him hence the need for him to consult his followers to decide the way forward.

“I am not a member of the fresh PDP. My political future is dented with the omission of my name from the ballot papers at the convention and I need to clear it. The struggle to fight for the right thing in PDP is my contribution to survival of democracy in Nigeria and PDP as the greatest party in the whole of Africa.” he said.

The PDP leader however asked this supporters to continue supporting the course of PDP, as his going to court was not to be controversial but to clear his name which he has been building in both private and public sectors for many decades.

Leader of the supporters’ groups, Prince Ibrahim Jalingo lauded Professor Adedoja for his steadfastness and commitment to the party.

Prince Jalingo stressed that the supporters were very happy to know that Professor Adedoja never thought of dropping the party for unknown destination.
