Ex-Senator Basheer Garba Lado and his supporters numbering over 5,000 decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in a colourful  and peaceful rally held at the Sani Abacha Stadium  on Saturday with governors of Kano, Adamawa and Niger states in attendance.
Others included Senators  Kabiru Gaya of Kano South and Barau Jibrin of  Kano North with  members of the House of Representatives as well as members of the state House of Assembly where they witnessed the ceremony, under the leadership of the APC National vice chairman, Mr. Segun Oni who represented the national chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.
Speaking at the event, Senator Basheer Lado disclosed thai he decamped to APC because he is totally satisfied with it’s objectives as a ruling party, where the Buhari administration has certainly  changed the face of the nation in every sector.
He therefore promised to work very well for the progress of the party in Kano and in Nigeria at large, where he commended Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for developing Kano State despite the current economic hardships facing the nation in general.
Most of the political  analysts that had a chat with our correspondent at the venue said that Ganduje is gradually boosting APC in Kano State by receiving top ranking political figures like Senator Basheer Garba Lado, Honourable Musa Iliyaau Kwankwaso, Honourable Lawan Shehu Bichi and a number of them into the party since he assumed office as the Kano State Governor in 2015 general elections.
