How a Police Corporal shot divorced wife to death in Kaduna

A Police Corporal Abdulaziz Ali serving with Nigeria Mobile Police (Mopol) 1 Barracks, Kaduna, shot and killed his ex wife when she went to park her belongings from their house after their separation.
Family sources and neighbors within the Barrack at Television Garage, said on the faithful day, Safiya went with five other persons to assist her removed her belongings, but first reported to the Provost office and informed him of her mission.
The Provost called the ex husband to his office and he did not object. The Provost provided Safiya and her team with two other Police men to accompany them to get her belongings.
According to eye witnesses, one of the Police men was armed while the other was not. As they move her property, the ex husband also assisted them with no one suspecting he had a hidden motive.
Unknown to all that Corporal Ali had a loaded gun within the house, according to the carpenter that went with the deceased to unpack her beddings, as he was uncoupling the bed, Corporal Ali said that he wanted to pick something under the bed. But before he could raise his head, he heard the sound of corking gun, shocked; the next thing he heard was a shot and scream from Safiya who was in the kitchen close to the bedroom.
The Police Corporal was said to have ran outside after the shooting and screaming “I don kill Mama Zainab make dem kill me” then went back inside the house, fired another bullet, ran out  of the room, dropped the gun and scaled the fence out of the barrack only to resurface at the State Command of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) where he reported himself.
Safiya and Abdulaziz were said to have been divorced about a month ago and she went back to Adamawa State where she was studying biology in one of the tertiary institutions.
The couple have a three year old daughter; Zainab. The deceased whose elderv sister resides in Cabala with her family has since been buried in Cabala Costain cemetery in accordance with Muslim rites.
At the time of filing this report, Kaduna Command Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Zubairu Abubakar did not answer calls put through to him to answer enquiries as regards the incident.
