The Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, on Wednesday commended the Federal Mortgage of Nigeria on its collaboration with the state government to enable citizens own houses in the state.
Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe expressed this when she received on courtesy visit the Management of Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) to Government House in Kaduna.
The National Housing fund and projects are designed to boost the availability of affordable quality housing in the state.
Their discussion centered on home ownership for low income earners through the National Housing Fund (NHF) scheme, an area of priority for Kaduna State Government.
The Deputy Governor commended the Federal Mortgage of Nigeria for the refund so far as this will help in financing, renovation and renting in the state.
Hadiza assured them that the challenges being faced will be tackled to have development of new future in the state.
Earlier, the Managing Director/Chief Executive of Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, Architect Ahmed Musa Dangiwa said, “we have come to assure the state government what we have done so far, we are to confirm to the state that 1,128 thousands houses have been build by Federal Mortgage of Nigeria.
“Kaduna State, Kaduna is one of those that has benefits in the mortgage, the state and local government are all contributing to the National Housing Fund.
“We came to seek for more land to build for Civil Servants, more houses to the citizens of Kaduna State.
“What we want the civil servants and other public, private and informal sector offices, is to start contributions even if you are not a civil servant. This is the only way you can benefit from the product of Federal Mortgage of Nigeria,” he said.
Explaining further, “all you need to do is to come to their office and pay monthly contribution of what you’re earning every month, this is just a minimum and that qualifies you to benefit from it after six months,” he added.
