As the yuletide celebrations continue, many Nigerians are crying over high cost of living heightened by the advent of fuel scarcity that helped to mar the celebrations.
Some people who spoke to the New Nigerian said that this administration of President Muhammadu Buhari does not seem to have the interest of its citizens at heart as cost of living worsen everyday.
Mrs. Abimbola Babatunde a resident of Sabon Tasha, in Kaduna said that with scarcity of fuel, transport fare also rose, adding, “if this government has our interest as priority, why allowing the scarcity come during celebrations”.
According to her purchasing power of goods has reduced and some workers are yet to get paid.
Mr. Gabriel Oche an advertising practitioner based in Gonin- gora described the situation in the country as unfortunate and puts the woes on the shoulders of the government’s lack of vision and political will to move the county forward.
“The government should be blamed for the scarcity, kidnappings and terrorism because it lacks the capacity to govern a country like Nigeria,” he emphasized.
“Nigerians are suffering nationwide because of fuel scarcity and only God knows what next year holds, ” he concluded.
It would be recalled that the country started witnessing fuel scarcity a few days to the Christmas celebrations which has continued with long queues at fuel stations and marketers smiling while the masses continue to suffer.
