The Movement for Democratic Support and Good Governance (MDSG) has enjoined the candidates that lost the 23/2/2019 elections to adopt and work with peace accord objectives for better democratic progress in Nigeria.
The group made the call at the end of it’s post election meeting in Kano, adding that peace accords are being signed to serve as agreements between two or more sides seeking for one precious mandate which needs to be respected for peace and unity to reign.
Malam Umar Abdullahi, who is the group’s secretary-general told our correspondent that MDSG was established ten years ago in order to work as a civil society in democratic support, and enlightening the public on the need to have credible leaders that can transform Nigeria through good governance.
Similarly, he disclosed that the group is also working day and night to see that leaders are always counseled about the need to cater for their electorate especially where there is the urgent need because leaders alone cannot cover everywhere in search of problems affecting their people.
In conclusion, Malam Umar Abdullahi advised the PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and all defeated candidates to join hands with the winners of the election in order to move Nigeria forward because all are needed in one way or the other.
On behalf of the MDSG board of trustees, he congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari for winning his second term bid.
