A group under the auspices of Gumel Youth Development Association in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State has strongly condemned the arrest of All Progressive Congress (APC) Youth Leader Jerry Ghandi  in the area by the Police.
According to them, the Youth Leader is also a bonafide member of their association and therefore demands his immediate and unconditional release.
The youth group disclosed this in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Sunday Peter and made available to newsmen in the state.
They also warned politicians against using government machineries to intimidate and harass  their members, particularly good people of Gumel ward like Jerry Ghandi.
“We condemn in strong terms the arrest and continued detention of Jerry Ghandi the APC Youth Leader of Kachia Local Government Area, a registered and active member in the local branch of Gumel Youth Development Association.
“We also want to make it clear that Jerry Ghandi as the Youth Leader can move freely to any of the 12 wards of Kachia Local Government Area to discharge his official duties and responsibilities.
“We shall not be intimidated by the use of state machineries to harass and detain the good people of Gumel particularly Jerry Ghandi for more than 24 hours.
“We call on the Deputy Speaker of Kaduna State House of Assembly John Audu Kwato to reconcile with his ward excos and deliver dividends of democracy to the people of Kachia.
“We in Gumel are yet to feel the impact of his official representation of us at the State House of Assembly.
“We hereby issue a 24 hours notice for the immediate and unconditional release of Jerry Ghandi and others, otherwise we shall result to lawful means to seek justice” he said.
