The gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections went on peacefully in parts of Southern Kaduna.
At most of the polling units visited by New Nigerian, it was observed that voting started at the right time with voters coming in large numbers to exercise franchise.
The former Group Managing Director of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Engr. Andrew Yakubu commended the efforts of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), for ensuring that the exercise commences at the right time.
He added that information received indicated that all the necessary materials needed were at hand to ensure full take off of the exercise.
He also commended the electorate for coming out in large numbers to vote candidates of their choice.
He enjoined the people of the state to see the exercise as an opportunity to elect leaders that would adequately pilot the affairs of the state to greater heights.
Also baring his mind on the conduct of the governorship and House of Assembly election, an APC chieftain, Mr. Francis Lozano also commended the efforts of INEC for putting a good show for the people to elect leaders that would lead them in the next four years.
He observed that from the polling units in his ward that he visited, the exercise went on peacefully and in a friendly atmosphere, advising INEC to do the needful.
An electorate said the election went on peacefully, stressing the need for INEC to ensure the wish of the people prevail through the the results that will be announced.
Though there was a misunderstanding at Zonkwa police station where youth allegedly burn two cars packed for demanding that some people alleged to be thugs be relished to them.
