Governor Buni An active, Effective Politician – Kingibe

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, renowned diplomat and politician, Ambassador Baba Gana Kingibe has described Governor Mai Mala Buni as an active and effective politician who, as former National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was  voice of moderation and voice of reason.
Kingibe made this statement in Damaturu during a courtesy visit on Governor Buni and congratulated him on his election and successful inauguration.
Baba Gana Kingibe said, he was happy that the people of Yobe State called on him to serve them.
He said he knows his capabilities and he is sure  that the people of Yobe State made an excellent choice, adding that as someone who has mastered the politics of Yobe State, and has run the Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as National Secretary very well, Governor Mai Mala Buni would provide a solid leadership in the state that would take the state to greater heights.
The retired diplomat also spoke on the confidence that President Muhammadu Buhari has in Mai Mala Buni, saying the President always speaks highly of him and has confidence on him.
Kingibe assured the Governor that he is always  available to assist in every way possible to make his administration succeed.
He said that they are ever ready to assist him when the need arises.
While expressing his gratitude to Ambassador Baba Gana Kingibe for his visit, Governor Mai Mala Buni said that the people of Yobe and Borno states are proud of Kingibe’s accomplishment and achievements and his continuous  in solidifying the nation’s democracy.
The Governor lauded president Muhammadu Buhari for conferring  honour of grand commander of the Niger (GCON) on him and declaring June 12 as democracy day in the country.
It would be recalled that on  12 June 1993, the late Chief M K O Abiola and Ambassador Baba Gana Kingibe were elected as president and Vice President respectively in what was described as the Nigeria”s free and fair election before the election results were annulled by the then military President Ibrahim Babangida.
