Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State Saturday paid a condolence visit and donated N10M to the family of Late Lieutenant Colonel Muhammed Abu Ali in Kaduna.
Shettima said he was at the residence to sympathize with the family on behalf of Borno state government over the demise of the late 272 Tank Battalion Commander.
Presenting the Zenith Bank cheque of ten million naira (N10m) to the family, the Governor instructed that N2M is for the wife of the deceased, N2m for the deceased mother, while N2m each to the three children left behind by the deceased and to be deposited in an account for the children’s up keep.
It will be recalled that Late Lt. Col. Abu-Ali was the Commanding Officer of 272 Tank Battalion of the Nigerian Army who spare-headed the liberation of many towns & villages that were initially captured by Boko Haram insurgents.
He was shot dead in an ambush by Boko Haram terrorists at Mallam-Fatori, the headquarters of Abadam LGA, Borno State on 4th November 2016.
