Gov Sani Bello Warns Pilgrims Officials Against Sharp Practices

Pilgrims welfare officials from the Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board have been warned to resist all temptations to manipulate the conduct of this year’s exercise for their selfish interests.
Governor Abubakar Sani Bello said any official found to have acted in contravention to stipulated rules in this year’s exercise scheduled to begin later this month, would be handled appropriately.
He said the state government was determined to ensure the success of this year’s pilgrimage.
The governor said all officials must key into the administration’s desire to ensure hitch free and rancour free pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The governor spoke at the start of a two day pre hajj training, known as train the trainers workshop for intending Muslim pilgrims from the state.
He spoke through his Special Adviser on religious affairs, Tanko Baba Ahmed.
Bello said the state government would continue to support the activities of the board to guarantee a successful Hajj operations.
The train the trainers workshop is an avenue where knowledge on hajj exercise are transmitted to those appointed to train those who are performing the religious rites in the holy land.
He therefore charged them to address all the critical aspects of the hajj exercise in accordance with the sunnah of the holy prophet, (SAW) on the rudiments of hajj exercise.
The governor, while wishing the trainers successful outing, advised that the right thing be done and a good knowledge on the Saudi Arabian Kingdom’s rules be imparted on all intending Muslim pilgrims.
Executive Secretary of the state’s Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Shehu Barwa Beji commended the sustained support from the state government to the board.
The training workshop is organized by the state’s Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board. It is also being attended by all the state’s Area Pilgrims Welfare Officers from all the twenty five council areas of the state, Islamic clerics, council of ullamahs and chieftains of the board.
